Being grateful to the land is our primary goal in the vineyard, transforming into extreme respect for the vine and the environment that surrounds it.

The path traced by our idea of cultivation is geared toward caring for the soil first and foremost. The abandonment of tilling in favor of only chopping, which revitalizes each clod and preserves it from invasive practices and The maintenance of biodiversity through organic fertilization, grassing of the inter-row with natural grasses, no herbicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers expresses our desire to preserve the centuries-old vine ecosystem in its original balance.

Green CERTIFICATIONS

The Lodali winery is an SQNPI (National Quality System of Integrated Production) observatory certified by the Ministry of Agriculture Food and Forestry (MiPAAF) as regards Barbaresco and Barolo, because we have adopted a cultivation system, called “integrated production,” aimed at drastically reducing water consumption and the use of synthetic chemicals as methods implemented to combat environmental adversities, rationalizing fertilization.

“Integrated” pest management is a crop defense practice that involves alternative techniques such as low-impact agronomic solutions such as the practice of ‘sexual confusion’ consisting of the release of pheromones, aimed at counteracting populations of harmful insects along with the application of miniskirts at the base of the vine stem in the spring, designed to prevent the larvae of lepidoptera in particular the nottua from feeding on productive buds. Both processes made their own in our operation.

The definition and application of a program of monitoring and management of water resources used also through our choice of rainwater harvesting in tanks prepared for recovery, as an important support in the necessary supply to the vineyards allows us to constantly reflect on the meaning of “saving” aimed at future generations.

Targeted interventions on individual plants allow us to achieve the quality we always strive for, while respecting the health of man and the earth, of ecological principles as pillars of the sustainability of our favorite agriculture.

We are also proud to have obtained EQUALITAS certification in full compliance with the required Standards.

Equalitas has sustainability as its primary objective and is aimed at the entire wine supply chain by providing three areas of certification : environmental, economic-productive and ethical/social and authorizes the certified company to declare itself sustainable through a prior analysis of its production dynamics, providing for the adoption of specific requirements, the identity of the company and its role within the territory that hosts it and spurs the continuous improvement of its standards through biannual internal sustainability budgets.

Equalitas defines our winery as sustainable in the entire process : from vineyard management to winemaking, aging and bottling of the wine produced and the control of each phase put in place.

It ensures that the enterprise is an expression of a comfortable environment in terms of the fellowship and support of each member of the working team and capable of creating a trait d’union with the surrounding area,

We are also pleased that Cantina Lodali has been awarded a certificate by the Piedmontese Regional Wine Shop Cavour, which highlights our aesthetic attention to enhancing the wine-growing landscape through a work ethic dedicated to caring for the land that hosts us. attestato vigne

THE BEE FOREST

The recent extension of the property through the acquisition of new land not totally used as a vineyard gives us the power to continue supporting biodiversity. Within the aforementioned is an area used as a Forest that will be preserved in its naturalness and as the custodian of some beehives cared for by an external collaborator will be our future test bed. Observing the health of the Bees, remarkably sensitive insects, will become a further confirmation that we have put in place every shrewdness necessary for the realization of our being sustainable.

ENERGY

In 2024, the 18 KW photovoltaic system was built, which consistently absorbs the energy consumption needed to maintain the controlled temperature inside the rooms suitable for fermentation and winemaking in the warm months. In the winter period it supports the bottling and packaging process.

2025 GREEN

Since this year we have chosen to be part of the project to RicicLiner program for the recycling of Liner (support of adhesive labels) so as to make the already contained use of plastic materials within the company even less impactful. Certificato progetto Ricic.liner-29

For each bottle uncorked internally for tasting purposes, we have joined Sughero.org, which is involved in the recovery of corks and the transformation of cork into innovative building materials.

EVERY DAY LIFE

In our daily work, everything is studied in order to achieve sustainability: from the packaging that to date has reached 75% recycled raw material aware that we must reach 100%, to the materials used in the tasting room where we prefer durable and non-disposable solutions by investing in cutting-edge technologies for hygiene with low water impact, to the provision of lightweight bottles so that the annual amount of glass is increasingly contained.

SPORTS FIELD AND FOUNTAIN

The sports field dedicated as a recognition of the generosity of Lorenzo Lodali whose time spent towards the community through his work within the village of Treiso and continued also by his son Walter current generation of the farm expresses the spirit of collaboration and Sharing the territory.

The fountain donated to the municipality by the Lodali family in 2022 stands inside the main square of Treiso as a symbol of the precious element of water and as a warning for us first of all to the essential and exhaustible good that it represents.

This year, Walter chose to participate in the Municipality of Treiso’s project to redevelop the primary and preschool spaces, convinced of the educational potential of an environment that is not only adequate but also rich in stimuli aimed at fostering creativity and the development of curious and independent minds.

IPOGEA CELLAR

The Ipogea cellar completed in May 2024 holds a treasure: the entire surface of the walls made of tuff, blue marl and limestone is surrounded by a light dew given by the continuous percolation of a water source rich in calcium carbonate, which creates a constant natural humidity: The perfect atmosphere to accommodate our unroasted wood, which has allowed us not to have to proceed with the creation of an artificial plant for temperature control by significantly reducing energy consumption.
